Gmail - creating and Setting Up a Gmail Account
A Gmail account is very important because most online activities require signing up or registering using your email account that is if you have one.
however, creating a Gmail account is not that hard, in fact, is very easy. You just need to create a Google account, and during the process, google will ask you to choose your Gmail account name.
In this lesson, we'll show you how to set up your Google account for Gmail, add and edit contacts, and edit your mail settings.
Setting up a Gmail account
To create a Gmail address, you'll first need to create a Google account. Gmail will redirect you to the Google account sign-up page. You'll need to provide some basic information like your name, birth date, gender, and location. You will also need to choose a name for your new Gmail address. Once you create an account, you'll be able to start adding contacts and adjusting your mail settings.
⦁ Go to www.gmail.com.To create an account:
⦁ Click "Create account".
⦁ The sign-up form will appear. Follow the directions by entering the required information.
Filling in the signup form by:
- enter your first name
- enter your last name
- and choose a username
If the username is taken, You won't be able to get a certain Gmail address if the username you requested is: "Already being used".
but google will provide you some available alternative that is Very similar to the username you choose (for example, if jade@gmail.com already exists, you can't use jade123@gmail.com, jadee@gmail.com,) but if you are not satisfied you can choose another username by re-entering another username in the username field.

Next, another form will appear where you will re-enter your number, you will enter your recovery email (this is optional especially since you don't have any existing email) lastly you will enter your birthday and gender.

Google will ask you to Review Terms and Privacy,just click on "I agree".Your account will be created.that's all
how to Sign-out/sign-in on your Gmail account
When you first create your account, you will be automatically signed in. Most of the time, however, you'll need to sign in to your account and sign out when you're done with it. Signing out is very important when you are using a computer that does not belong to you or you are using a shared computer that wants to prevent other people from getting access to your email account or messages. sign out:
Click on the image or avatar at the top-right corner of the page, most of the time it will show the first letter that starts your name. Click on "Sign out" to sign out,
To sign in the back:
Go to www.gmail.com.
fill in your email address and password, (of cause normal way to log in to most websites), then click "Next".

Adding & Editing contacts
Like all major email providers, Gmail lets you keep an address book of contacts so you don't have to memorize everyone's email addresses. You can also add other contact information, like phone numbers, birthdays, and physical addresses.
To add a contact:
Click the Google apps button.
there will be a drop-down menu
then select the "contacts" button from the drop-down
select "add new contact"
just fill out the user form (the information of the person, "not your own info")
Importing contacts
one might already have some contact list from another email address. however, Gmail allows you to import all your contacts, and even allows you to import all of your email messages from that account. and almost all email providers are supported, I mean including Yahoo!, AOL, and Hotmail.

however, anytime you send an email to a new address, Gmail adds the address to your contacts By default. And You can edit the person's information on your contacts whenever you needed.
To edit a contact:
